8th Grade Saints Shooters had an amazing game today.  Excited Shooters supporters watched some impressive passing with nearly everyone scoring or attempting too!!  It was the attention to defence work and the team talking to each other that made the game special.  Taylor Simpson got player of the day for Awesome Defence Work.

Congratulations to the team on your 9-4 win against Allandale Rangers.

Well Done Shae

8 05 2012

Congratulations to Shae Brady who recently attended the National Talent Centre (NTC) in Auckland.

Shae was selected to attend the NTC after being nominated by Mike Ward to attend The Talent on Location Day in Auckland . The Talent on Location Day is a trial of nominated footballers from the Northern Football Federation, Auckland Football Federation and WaiBOP Football Federation for a place in the NTC. Shae made it through this trial to be selected to attend the NTC, she is the first Saints player to be selected to attend the NTC.

The NTC was a weeklong training camp held in Auckland during the April school holidays. The players attending have been identified as the best in their age and the NTC gives them the opportunity to play and train alongside the best players, with the best coaches at the best facilities with the goal of representing their country at an U17 World Cup.

Well done Shae!

EBOP Reps and FTC

6 05 2012

Congratulations to the Saints Players who were nominated to trial for Reps and FTC.  You obviously show the skills that make you worthy of consideration for representing the EBOP at the highest level.  This in itself is a great achievement.  Unfortunately the trial process means disappointment to some and sometimes it is simply that there are too many worthy players for the number of spots available.

Congratulations to the following players who have been selected to represent the EBOP from our club – Daniel Beck, Aidan Bensemann, Finn Alison, Liam Marshall, Sam Cox-Alison, Sunny Davies, Mitchell White, Johann Stoove, Dylan Chelley, Phoenix Bell, Jack Cederman-Hill, Quest Tipping, Tane Purcell, Matt Sinkinson, Kelly Downes, Lexie Brady, Ruby Boyd and Shae Brady.

FIELD MARKINGS

A special thank you to Peter Stoove, Jason Cederman-Hill and Michael White for helping mark our football fields today.  Field markings need to be done each year, and any assistance with this is always appreciated.  Our 8th and 9th grade teams will be playing on the field outside the back of the school grounds this year.  The 11th and 13th grade field will remain shared as per last year, and the 7th grade field has been slightly repositioned, but in essence is in the same location as last year also.

2012 Teams

12 03 2012

Teams for 2012 have been finalised.  This year we are fielding 10 teams – three 6th grade, two 7th grade, one 8th grade, one 9th grade, two 11th grade and one 13th grade.

All players should have received an email by now from their coach.  Thank you to those who have put up their hands to take on this important role.  Most teams could also benefit from a second coach that can either share the role or work in a back-up capacity.  If you are willing to take on such a role please also contact me.

Best of luck for a fantastic season.
